Bosch error 510: Internal sensor error

One of the sensors inside the drive unit (torque, cadence or speed processing) is giving an implausible reading. Assistance may feel jerky, surge, or cut out. Sometimes a restart clears it; a repeating 510 usually means a sensor or its wiring inside the motor has failed.

How to fix Bosch error 510

Switch off and on again with the cranks stationary and no foot on the pedals (the torque sensor zeroes at start-up)
Check the spoke magnet and speed sensor alignment as for code 504
Remove and refit the battery to force a full power cycle
Test ride; if the code returns, the dealer needs to read live sensor values with DiagnosticTool
