Bosch error 810: Implausible signals from the wheel speed sensor
The ABS unit is receiving wheel speed signals that do not make sense, most often from the front wheel sensor. The ABS warning lamp stays on and ABS is switched off, but the brakes work as normal brakes and the motor keeps assisting.
Likely causes
- Sensor ring on the disc dirty, damaged or bent
- Air gap between sensor and ring too large after a wheel refit
- Front wheel not seated correctly in the dropouts
- Wrong or damaged brake disc / sensor ring fitted
- Sensor loose on its bracket
How to fix Bosch error 810
- Check the front wheel is fully seated and the thru-axle tight
- Clean the sensor ring on the disc and the sensor face
- Check the sensor sits close to the ring (roughly 1 mm) and is not bent or loose
- Restart and ride a few hundred metres; the ABS lamp should go out
- If the code stays, a dealer must check the sensor gap and read live data with DiagnosticTool
