The display and controller are not communicating. The Rad display powers on but shows 30, freezes, or shows no data, and there is no assist. Almost always the display connector at the handlebar or a damaged harness wire.
Likely causes
- Display connector not fully seated or wet
- Harness wire damaged at the head tube or where it enters the frame
- Bent pin in the display connector
- Display or controller port failed
How to fix Rad Power Bikes error 30
- Switch off, unplug the display connector, check for water and bent pins, clean, dry and re-seat with the collar locked
- Wiggle the harness with the bike on to find intermittent breaks
- Check the connectors at the controller end if you can reach them
- Contact Rad support; they will usually send a display or harness
