Likely causes
- Brake lever pulled at power-up
- Brake sensor stuck or misadjusted
- Damaged brake sensor cable or wet connector
- Wrong brake sensor type for the controller
How to fix S866 / S830 display error E05
- Power cycle with the brakes released
- Check both levers return fully; adjust the sensor
- Unplug one brake sensor at a time to find the faulty one
- Replace the faulty sensor; if still E05 with both unplugged, the controller input is faulty
