Battery voltage fell below the controller cut-off. Usually the bike shows bars at rest and cuts out under load. The code clears when the voltage recovers, then returns as soon as you accelerate.
Likely causes
- Battery empty or nearly empty
- Aged pack sagging under load
- Corroded or loose battery contacts
- Cold weather
- Controller low-voltage setting wrong for the battery (36V vs 48V)
How to fix S866 / S830 display error E06
- Charge the battery fully
- Clean and check the battery contacts and lock
- Reduce assist level; if the code stops, the pack cannot deliver the current
- Check the controller's voltage setting matches the battery
- Have the pack tested if it sags heavily when full
