E10 indicates the display cannot communicate reliably with the drive unit. Symptoms are a display that freezes, shows dashes or resets, while the motor may still assist. It is usually a connector at the display or handlebar switch. Also shown on Giant/Liv (SyncDrive) bikes, sometimes with a leading zero (E01) or as 'Er' followed by the number on older Yamaha displays.
