Yamaha PW error E41: Firmware / configuration error

E41 indicates the firmware versions or configuration of the connected components do not match what the drive unit expects. It usually shows up after a component swap or a partial update. The bike may still work with limited functions. Also shown on Giant/Liv (SyncDrive) bikes, sometimes with a leading zero (E01) or as 'Er' followed by the number on older Yamaha displays.

How to fix Yamaha PW error E41

Note what was changed last and remove any non-original part
If the brand app offers updates, apply them to every component
Power-cycle

Warranty: Firmware work is normally free at the dealer in the warranty period; configurations broken by aftermarket parts are not covered.
