A fault on a motor phase wire: open, short or unbalanced current. The motor clicks, cogs or is dead; sometimes a burnt smell. Stop using assist.

- Corroded or burnt pins in the motor connector
- Motor cable damaged at the dropout

- Failed controller MOSFET
