The battery's voltage is outside the expected range. Most often the battery is deeply discharged after long storage; less often a cell group has failed. The system stops assistance to protect the pack.

Likely causes

How to fix Bosch error 610

  1. Switch off and remove the battery
  2. Charge fully on the original Bosch charger; a deeply discharged pack may take a while before the LED shows charging
  3. Let it reach room temperature
  4. Refit and restart
  5. If the charger will not charge it, or the code returns after a full charge, a dealer must test the pack with DiagnosticTool
Go to a dealer if: A dealer with DiagnosticTool is needed when a full charge does not clear the code or the charger refuses the battery.
Warranty: Bosch batteries carry a 2-year warranty (or 500 full charge cycles, whichever comes first); deep discharge from long storage is often classed as user damage.
Typical cost: Free if a full charge fixes it; otherwise a replacement battery at 500-900 EUR/USD.
Still stuck? Take a photo of the display and show it to a local e-bike workshop. Bring the bike's system name (e.g. Bosch Performance Line CX) and the exact code; that saves diagnostic time and money.
