Bosch error 430: On-board computer internal battery empty
The small internal buffer battery inside the display (Intuvia or Nyon) is flat. This happens after the bike has been stored for weeks without the display being powered. The bike still works; the clock and some settings may have been lost.
Likely causes
- Bike stored for a long time with the display unpowered
- Display left off the bike for weeks
- Ridden only for very short trips so the internal battery never recharges
- Aged internal battery in an older display that no longer holds charge
How to fix Bosch error 430
- Fit the display on its holder and switch the system on
- Leave the system switched on (or ride) for at least an hour so the buffer battery can recharge from the main battery
- For Nyon you can also charge the display via its micro-USB port with a phone charger
- Reset the clock if it has reverted
- If the code comes back after every short storage, the internal cell is worn and a dealer can replace the display
